We have been planning this upcoming cruise since we were still on the Disney Cruise 5/2005!! We've had to change our dates a few times, but we have finally settled on 5/23/09 7 night Disney Cruise!!! At this point we have 20 days until our cruise, 18 days till we head to Florida!!

If you've followed any of my posts on a couple of the Disney websites I visit, you'll know what we have been through the past few years. My father was diagnoised with Stage IV cancer just after he and mom bought their house in AL. My husband(fiance at the time), and ds moved up to AL, leaving our house and 1/2 the stuff in it. We changed our wedding from Nov 3rd, at DISNEY, to have a double wedding with my sister at my parents house. We moved in with them, and got married on August 18th, 2007. We had a wonderful year with Dad, and are very happy we moved here when we did!! Dad passed away on July 18th, 2008. It has been very hard on the family. Mom has now been diagnosed with kidney failure. She started Dialysis last week. This came on pretty sudden, so it was kind of a shock when she had to start.

So for quite awhile we weren't really looking forward to the cruise, not sure if we would be able to go or not. We did go through the motions and plan parts of the trip, getting more excited as time went on.

Ed: my husband, AKA GoofyGuyED, 37 years old -    Another Disney Fanatic. Enjoys planning Disney trips almost as much as I do. (just don't ask him to try on clothes or pack early...he gets that glazed over look in his eyes! Also, do not talk about more than one trip at a time...same reaction). I'm very lucky to have such a great husband who enjoys the trips as much as I do!! Very excited to be going on his first Disney Crusie

Brandon: son, AKA GoofyBoy, 13 years old -    Loves Disney just like I do! (I started my Disney Brainwashing at a very young age!! You know, Disney wall decor, Disney music, Disney movies, etc) Will be 14 when we get home from our trips. Is VERY exctied to be going on his 2nd Disney Cruise, first 7 night!!

Thursday 5/21/09 -  take mom to dialysis (7am...my sister will pick her up), pick up breakfast, get the guys, and drive to FL. Staying at Pop Century for the night.

Friday 5/22/09 -  check out of Pop, check into SSR for the night. Go get our rings cleaned/inspected. Visit Ed' parents and grandparents for the day. Sleep at SSR.

Saturday 5/23/09 -    Check out at of SSR, eat breakfast at resort. Drive to the port!!

Saturday 5/23- 5/30/09 -    DISNEY CRUISE TO TORTOLA

Saturday 5/23/09 - Port Canaveral  Group Meet, Sail a way Party

Sunday 5/24/09 - At Sea - nothing planned..open day to see what is going on

You can CLICK HERE to read about some of our Disney Planning. I haven't updated it as much as I should have, but it does have some things listed.

We have decided to cut back on our spending for this trip as much as we can. We decided to cut out the couples massage. It will save us quite a bit of money. It's not that big of a deal, we can always do a couples massage around here or another time on a cruise if can go again.

We have also cut out a few of our ADR's (meals) at Disney. We'll be able to have lunch in our room, and cook a dinner or two in the room as well. It has become like a game to me to see how I can save money BEFORE we go on the cruise by cutting out things we don't NEED to do. That way we won't have to think too much about saving money while we are on vacation!!

We've made progress with my dresses! At first we decided not to go to Formal and Semi-Formal nights, because we didn't wanat to spend money on clothes and I'm not really a dress person. I was encouraged to go from my cruise mates, and not to worry about it! So I ordered a few dresses to try. One works for Semi-Formal night, and my mom is letting me wear one of her dresses for Formal night!

Brandon had to get new pants and shoes for his graduation from 8th grade, so he can wear those on for dinners. Now to get Ed to try on his clothes to see if he needs new pants or shirts!!

This time in two weeks we'll be in Orlando/At Disney!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

The dr put me on insulin Wednesday, I knew it was coming but was hoping it would wait until after our vacation. Oh well, it isn't as bad as I thought it would be so I can deal with it. I'm trying to eat better, but it will be hard with the cruise and disney trip. I had the dr fill out the medical form today, and faxed it to the ship so they know I'm on insulin and different meds.

I got my hair cut today (shorter than I had expected) and highlighted (a bit blonder than I expected). I really like it!! I wanted something fun and easy for the cruise and this will work!! My hair was just so long and I never did anything with it anyways.

We've been busy again!!!

I got my medical form filled out and faxed over to the cruise lines!! Thanks to my dr's office and Stephanie for calling me....they finished it in just a few minutes and I was able to send it in on time!!!  I'm still trying to get used to (and remember!!!) to take my insulin!!

I FINALLY got caught up on my sleep last night, so I have been busy today! Did some dishes, cooked breakfast, did some of my laundry and have been packing some more of my things! I'm going to do Brandon's luandry this weekend and pack his stuff. I've actually been making a list of  things I"m putting in each suitcase. A bit crazy I know, but it keeps me from having to go back through bags to make sure things are packed!!

I'm thinking of getting my pedicure today! We'll see if I have time.

Brandon has his FIRST FOOTBALL game today at the highschool!! (he will be a freshman next year).

Need to go to the post office today to mail out some of our last ebay things (we'll have the store closed while we are on vacation). Also, I'm sending back some dresses and a shirt I had ordered to try for the cruise.

6 days until we leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8 days until we are on the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we had a busy weekend!! Got laundry done, packed things, got caught up on my sleep!!!

Friday I got my pedicure...can't believe it's been almost 2 years! Oy! My feet feel so much better!!

Finished packing everything for Brandon that I can today. He has to wear TWO outfits on his last day of school that he needs to wear on the cruise! Dress shirt, tie and dress pants for graduation. Dockers, and polo shirt for Grad Dinner and Dance. So I can't pack those till last minute...then will send them to be washed on the cruise!

It was FINALLY SUNNY here today!!! After about two weeks of clouds and rain!! I got to lay out and soak up some rays, and it felt great!! (of course my allergies kicked in with the polen out there).

Tomorrow while mom is having dialysis, I'm going in search for dress shoes. Hopefully I can find a pair that are high heels but not too high. If not I'm wearing my flats with my dresses. LOL.

Tomorrow I also need to clean! (ugh) I don't want to come home to a messy place.

Wednesday is going to be our BUSY day!! Brandon has graduation Wednesday at 9am. I need to pick up grandma Faye at the airport, she comes in 10am. Luckily she doesn't mind waiting a bit for me to get there so I can see Brandon graduate! Then that night Brandon has his Grad dance and dinner. I'll be busy doing last minute packing and visiting with Grandma Faye.

5 Days until our Cruise!!!!

Thursday May 21

I woke up at 5:40am, woke up Ed and took mom to Dialysis. I waited until she was hooked up and left for home. We finished packing up the truck and we all said our goodbyes to Grandma Faye and our dog Belle. We ended up leaving the house an hour later than planned, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. We stopped to get gas, and stopped at Wal Mart to see if we could get a memory card for Brandon’s new PSP. No such luck.

Got on the road finally and were on our way to Florida!!! I started the driving, and was surprised that I was able to drive for 4 hours. That was over my limit!! I was getting so tired!! We pulled over at a gas station from H*LL!! UGH! We needed a potty break, and all I can say is UGH!!

Ed took over and drove the last 5 hours to Pop Century! It was raining off and on the whole trip. When we got out to check in it was still raining. We got there about 6pm. We got checked in very quickly and went to eat since we seemed to all have low blood sugar. Ed and Bran got chicken and fries. I got parmesan crusted chicken, salad and bread stick. It was GREAT! I was happy to not have to eat burgers and fries!!

We found our room and brought in all of our luggage. We had done so great packing our stuff in the beginning, but we slacked off at the end. So we needed to see what had to be transferred to the “take on the cruise bags”, or the “stay in the truck” bags. We had no other plans for the night, so it was no big deal going through the bags.

Brandon watched the basketball game, and Ed and I headed to check out Everything Pop. After doing some shopping, we got drinks at the pool bar…in the rain! I was SO happy to finally get my Margarita!! But I just wasn’t able to drink but a few sips of it. What I did drink of it was GREAT!! We watched our soaps on Soap Net and fell asleep.

FRIDAY MAY 22

I got up early and got my shower out of the way. I woke the guys up and we went to get breakfast. Ed and I had the French toast, and I shouldn’t have. Oh well. We headed back to the room to pack up and get ready to check out!

We have decided we don’t like changing hotels. But this night was going to be free at SSR, so we couldn’t pass it up. We packed everything back into the truck and headed to SSR to check in. Our check in was quick and easy. Our room wasn’t ready so we headed to Orlando to visit with Ed's family.

We got our rings cleaned and inspected, ate lunch at Burger King and went to visit Ed’s parents. After a bit, we left to visit his Grandparents but didn’t stay too long. The weather was BAD in Disney. The news reported BB and TL were closed, and the airport was not letting people land because of the bad wind. 

We went back to Ed’s parents to visit for a bit, and then went out to our favorite pizza place to eat. It was GREAT!! (but it seems like we ALL paid for it later…something must have been bad in the pizza).

 We finally made it back to SSR and found our room. We unpacked everything AGAIN! UGH! Ed and I walked to the shop at SSR to get some water for the room. We had a nice walk! It had stopped raining and it was nice and relaxing out!

After we got back to the room , we went through our bags, put the DCL tags on them and went to sleep.

No pictures from today. I'm not sure why I didn't take any photos?? Oh well.

Tomorrow is DISENY CRUISE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
