Day At Sea.....Wednesday May 18, 2005
We woke up today around 8:30 (the kids running up and down the hall were our wake up call today). I opened up the curtains and verandah and just lay in bed watching the water go by for awhile. Woke up Brandon at 9am to discuss what we were going to do today. It was cloudy, so I wasn’t going to waste time laying out by the pool.

We headed off to breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet and sat outside, kind of off to the side. It was BEAUTIFUL out there!

And the sun started to come out! The night before captain John had mentioned he was going to try to steer clear of some storms in the area, but he couldn’t promise we’d have sun today. But he did it!!

We went back to the room so I could change and get my pool stuff. Brandon had decided to go to the kids clubs for a bit this morning, so I dropped my stuff off at the adult pool!! The kids were just up a floor at the sports deck. I told Brandon I’d pick him up at lunch time.
I went back to the Adult pool and just RELAXED! It wasn’t crowded at all from 10am until about noon. It started to get busy around lunch time. I got some sun, went in the pool, got some sun, went in the pool! Struck up some conversations with a few different people, relaxed!! LOL Let me just tell you that getting to lay out in the sun for those two hours MADE MY TRIP!!!! After I figured I was pushing my luck with the Caribbean Sun, I headed back to the room to drop off my stuff. (our room was only two floors down from the pool...very convenient. ) I went to pick up Brandon, and we decided to pass on the Seafood menu for lunch. We hit Pluto’s Stand, I got grilled chicken sandwich and Bran got his old reliable Chicken Fingers! We got some free cokes, and took the food back to our room to eat out on the verandah. On At Sea Days, the pool area is PACKED, especially at lunch time. So we decided to eat in peace!
After lunch I went down to book our next cruise! Jocelyn was just finishing up with a couple, so I only had to wait a minute. I knew exactly what I wanted, so it only took a few minutes to book. I booked two rooms, one for me and Brandon and one for my parents. We got connecting rooms on the same floor, other side of the ship! Of course we have to have Verandahs!!! I was walking on air as I headed away from that desk!!! I went to shutters to look at more pictures, and bought a few more! I went back to the room to read all about what I needed to do to get ready to exit the cruise the next day. I filled out the paperwork, and actually started packing up some of our stuff. (we had to have our suitcases outside by 11pm that night). I made sure not to forget our clothes for the next day!!! Wouldn’t want to walk of the ship in our PJ’s! LOL
At 2pm, Brandon wanted to head back to the clubs to play human tic tac toe. I dropped him off at Studio Sea where some of the activities were going on. I went back up and finished packing everything that I could. I got my book out and sat on the Verandah to read. The sun came back out and I got some more sun just sitting out there! I watched another cruise ship zig zag out at sea like we were doing, and watched some smaller boats out there too.

Tonight was the “graduation” for the kids clubs, and they were going to get free t-shirts and graduation caps. I told Brandon if he didn’t want to do the show, to at least stay and get the free stuff!! LOL As I was heading down stairs to get a good place for the show, I got paged that Brandon wanted to be picked up!

LOL I went and got him and we went to sit outside on deck 4 on those LOVELY blue chairs!!! Ahhhh..I wish I had one on my verandah!!!! Brandon decided he wanted to watch the show, he just didn’t want to stand up on stage. So we went ahead and watched it. It was cute, all the kids got up on stage, and sang a song. They showed some pictures taken during the cruise, and Mickey and Minnie came out to visit!

After the show we shopped for souvenirs for my family and dropped it off in our room. We then headed out to our last dinner on the ship. It was in the same place as last night, Parrot Cay. This is the LOUDEST of the restaurants. I got stake and potatoes again, since I NEVER cook stake at home. Brandon threw us all for a loop when he ordered PIZZA for dinner! He even ordered a different soup to try also!

Stacey, our assistant server kept dropping things and ended up cutting herself and having to go to medical services. We never got to say goodbye to her. We gave out our tips to the servers, and said we’d miss their services. The kids were getting antsy, so Ed offered to take them back to their room. (Since the had visited our room, Brandon wanted to visit theirs.) We had desert (I ordered a sunday) and then we went back to their room.
Oh, our table mates were chosen as the Magical Family of the Cruise. I think they choose one or two families. They get cards once or twice a day with all kinds of gifts!! DCL Pins, free rentals on Castaway Cay, cookies in the room, signed pictures of the characters...etc. So they showed us all their stuff!!
It was not time to head to the show of the night, Disney Dreams! This is a pretty darn good show!!! I even got teary eyed during it! I wish I could have taken pictures, but they asked that we didn’t. I’m really glad we saw this show!!
We went back and put our suitcases outside our room(after making sure AGAIN we had clothes for the next day!) While Brandon was taking a shower, I ordered Mickey Bars for us! He kept asking after he got out if we could call, but I told him I was too busy. Finally there was a knock at our door, and Brandon looked at me in wonder! LOL He opened the door to find our Mickey Bars! He said “you tricked me mom!!” LOL This time they even unwrapped them and put them on a plate of sprinkles!
Our last turndown service:

I set the wake up call (the automatic wake up call on my phone never worked, I had to call and have it manually done. ) I spent a little more time out on the verandah, writing in my journal and relaxing. I thought about all we had done on our cruise, and how much Brandon enjoyed it! It was a wonderful trip, and well worth the wait and expense!!! I think it will be a trip that Brandon (and I) will never forget!!!
