Our Disney Christmas 12/16-12/18/05

We were lucky enough to be able to spend another weekend at Disney during the Christmas season!! This year we brought along my boyfriend Ed! He's never been to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or stayed onsite so this is a new experience for him. He's not new to Disney though, he is as Disney Crazy as we are!!

Cast: Me, DS(dear/disney son) Brandon -10 years old, and DBF(dear/disney boyfreind) ED.

Brandon was off of school and I was off of work today. I finished packing up our stuff, and our presents and we headed off to meet up with Ed. We got to Orlando around 2:00 or 2:30pm. Brandon and I got to meet Ed's mom! She was so nice! We packed up all of Eds stuff and the two big bags of presents and headed off to Disney World!!! We got to All Star Sports around 3:15pm and check in was a breeze!! They had every counter open and we were checked in by 3:30pm! Ed has never stayed on-site before so this was a great experience for him!

We headed over to the Tennis section building 5, second floor. We unloaded all our stuff, took 2 trips of us all carrying lots of stuff. We unpacked our stuff, but kept the presents packed away for now. Ed unpacked our Disney Winnie the Pooh christmas tree and set it up for us. I put the lights on and Brandon put the ornaments on.

After we had all our stuff unpacked, we got to open a present each! (actually Brandon got to open TWO!)

Brandon was SO surprised to see what his gift was!! A ticket to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP)!! We had decided not to go to the party again this year, but then after thinking about it I really didn't want to miss it! So when I ordered the tickets I decided to keep it a secret from Brandon! He had asked a few times if we could go and I said the tickets were sold out (they really were for that night). The look on his face was priceless when we opened the box!!!

After opening the presents we headed down to the Cafe to have dinner. Give you one guess what Brandon ordered.......you got it..CHICKEN FINGERS!

LOL actually we all ordered them this time! Yummy!!!

After dinner we headed to the buses to go to the Magic Kingdom (MK). We didn't have to wait too long for our bus, and we were on our way!! We got there and they were still emptying out the MK for this event. We made our way down Main Street, USA and stopped to take a few pictures.

Yes, he believes!!!

I saw this cute little area off to the side of Main Street and it just looked so pretty with the flowers and lights that we had to stop and take pictures!

Heather and Brandon (who decided to make faces in almost EVERY picture we took this weekend cause he thought it was funny!!)

Ed and Heather, 12/16/2005

We made our way over to Tommorowland since this was the only area open at this time. They were already taking the "free" pictures so we got in line. From past trips to MVMCP, I know the lines can get long really fast! Some people wait in line for over an hour for this!! We were lucky and got in and out in about 15 minutes! We got this picture in the mail about 5-6 days later!!

Then we headed over to see our favorite show, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. There was only about 10 minutes left until the show started and you had to stand to watch it, so we decided to catch the next show.We decided to ride the TTA, our favorite ride!

Then we went on Buzz Lightyear, and Brandon rode with Ed. They battled it out and I think Ed won that round!! We got off and there was no line so we got right back on!! This time Brandon rode with me and I KNOW he won! Ha!We decided to go get our hot cocoa and cookies and get in line for our favorite show. A few minutes later they let us in and we got perfect seats!! ( on this trip we had a few DDD AKA double dog dares, to do.) One of our Double Dog Dares was to get a picture of all three of us enjoying our free hot cocoa and cookies! Yummy!!We got a CM to take this picture of us!

The show was great as usual and continues to be our favorite at MVMCP!! After the show Brandon gave me a big hug and said "thank you again for the ticket to the party mom, I love you!" That made my night!!

Brandon's favorite part of the show "Run Run Rudolph!!"

Our favorite guy, Santa Goofy!

After the show we headed out to shop for MVMCP special merchandise. We found shirts and an ornament to buy!! Never did find the special MVMCP pins, but thats ok. Now it was time to find some characters dressed up for the holidays!!! We headed over to Toon Town in search of some great photo opportunities!! We found Mickey, Minnie and Daisy!

Brandon wanted to check out Mickey's House, so headed there next. Look at how big the lights are on Mickey's house!

It was almost time for Wishes, christmas style, so we headed to Main Street to watch the fireworks. We were going to get more cookies and hot cocoa but the line was too long! ha! The fireworks were great!! Don't let the name Wishes confuse you...i thought it would be like Wishes..but its not. They were a totally separte set of fireworks. Absolutely amazing! It was great to be there with Brandon and Ed watching these fireworks! We all enjoyed them!!

After the fireworks we headed over to get our spots for the parade. We went to Adventure Land and Brandon and Ed got set up in one of our favorite spots to sit. Then I went in search for popcorn, water, free cookies and hot cocoa!!

We had some time to waste, but it was nice to just sit and relax! We had a 3 man band come by and serenade us with christmas music! It was great!!!! Before you knew it the parade was starting!! This is our second favorite thing of MVMCP! We love the Christmas Parade!!

After the parade, we decided to head out. It was getting really really cold, and I was craving another hot chocolate, so we made another stop to get hot chocolate on our way out to warm us up! It had been a long day and we had a big day planned for tomorrow!! We stopped on Main Street to take a picture of Ed and Brandon and this nice man offered to take a picture of all three of us! Thats some extra Disney Magic!!

This is another DDD..actually two! We took a picture of the three of us with our Mickey/Minnie Santa hats, and also took a picture of us on Main Street with Snow falling down!! (even though the snow is hard to see!)

On the way out we saw Max and Brandon took a picture with him!

We got in line for our bus and only had to wait for two buses. We ended up standing on the way back, but Brandon found a seat! It wasn't too a long ride and then we were back at our resort! We unpacked our purchases and set a wake up call for 8:30 in the morning!

Tomorrow....our Christmas, MK and MGM.

Saturday December 17th, 2005

Mickey and Stitch woke us up bright and early at 8:30am! We all slowly got up and got ready for the day. Today was to be "Our Christmas" together since we wouldn't be together on Christmas day. We got the presents out for each other and it certainly looked like Christmas Day!! Wow!

I had Ed and Brandon open one present each together. I got them both Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey shirts and hats since we plan to go to a game soon!

We let Brandon , aka the firecracker, open his presents next! Ed got him a few things, of course his favorite was remote control hockey players!

Ed's mom even sent something for Brandon!! A rail road crossing big bank! Brandon loved it!! I'll have to take a picture of it all put together this weekend and  post a picture soon!

Then Ed and I got to open our gifts to each other! We have tons of pictures, but most of them aren't good to post! Brandon decided to play around with the camera and zoom in really really close, and then take nice pictures of the floor, presents, etc! Ha!!! Little stinker!!

I was really spoiled and got lots of goodies from Ed!!! I got a nice heart shapped ring, necklace and earrings set, a cute jewelry box with my nickname on it, two links for my bracelet w/my nickname and mickey and minnie on them, a Pooh anniversery clock, a Cruise Fund jar!! Oh, and a glass heart w/two dolphins in it that lights up! Its very pretty. I got some other small things too!! I can get used to being spoiled!! Ha!

I got Ed some Tampa bay Lightning shirts/hat and Bucs shirt/hat, a book he wanted, the Disneyland desk set and a stocking full of goodies!I can't remember what else! LOL Ed's mom also sent along something for Ed and me!! Since we both like Disney and Dolphins, she got us both dolphin towels, and a very nice dolphin ornament. Also some candy and disney washclothes!! And she wrapped up both of our presents in the same box! :-)

By the time we all finished opening our gifts it was past breakfast time, and our idea of going to the MK early was cancelled! So we cleaned up the trash, and headed out to bring back lunch to the room. We decided to take it easy and enjoy ourselves and the presents! We ate our lunch, and then Brandon and Ed played with the new hockey remote control set! I cleaned up some, read my book, and called my Grandma to set up a time to pick her up tomorrow. It had ended up raining all morning anyways, so it worked out ok that we didn't make it to the parks until later in the day.

Later in the afternoon we headed to the Magic Kingdom with the idea of taking a picture on Main Street, riding TTA and then leaving. Well, it was cloudy out so we decided we'd come back tomorrow for the pictures. We headed over to the TTA and rode that once. Everything else had lines, so we headed over towards the Jungle Cruise. Brandon got a Mickey Bar and Ed and I got a orange twist treat. Yummy! It was getting kinda late and there was a line for Jungle Cruise so we decided to just catch a bus to MGM now.  We took the monorail to the TTC, then took a bus to MGM. This was our longest wait of the weekend for a bus, but it finally got there and we were on the way to MGM!

We went into MGM and headed for the Osborne Family lights. This was the whole reason of coming to MGM. It was very crowded, but we were able to walk through and enjoy the snow, the music and the lights!

After viewing the lights, Brandons feet hurt and we were all hungry for dinner so we headed back to our resort. We decided to get some pizza and bring it back to our room to relax and eat! Look at the cute box the pizza comes in!! (the pizza was pretty good too!)

After dinner we settled in and watched some TV, and then set up a wake up call for 8:30am.

Tomorrow: Check out Day, Chef Mickey's, Picking up Grandma Faye!

Sunday December 18, 2005

Well, as the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end". It is check-out day. We packed most of our stuff up last night, so we wouldn't have to do as much today. We got our stuff together (which was interesting trying to pack away all our presents!) We had express check out (we had a credit card down on the room) and our bill was delivered to our room. Everything was in order so we left around 10am. We headed over to the Contemporary for our breakfast at Chef Mickey's!!

We got checked in and got our pager, and then got our Chef Mickey's picture taken.

We saw Santa Goofy and had to have all our pictures taken with Goofy!!

After our pictures with Santa Goofy, we sat down to wait for our pager to go off. After about 10 minutes we were ready to be seated for our favorite breakfast at Disney World! Santa Goofy was back, and he actually showed us to our table!! The hostess took away one of our table settings since there were three of us, and goofy took it back and placed it on our table and sat down with us!

Then Goofy got impatient and started looking around for our server!

He got up to go look in the kitchen, and then we he looked around some more he found her! He kept pointing to his wrist telling her to hurry up! Ha!! He was hungry and thirsty!! Talk about Disney Magic! We had a great character interaction with our all time favorite Disney Character!! Sometimes its the small things that add that special Disney Magic to your trip! It sure made our day!!

We got to show Ed our favorite breakfast menu, and I think he enjoyed it! :-) My favorite Cheesy Potato Casserole was soooo good!! There's no calories in Disney Food, right?! Yummy!

Of course all the characters came around to visit us!! Pluto had fun playing around with Brandon!!

Of course Brandons favorite part is the Celebration song and waving the towels around!! We got to do this twice during our breakfast!

After we ate breakfast, we headed to the SHOPS!! Woo Hoo!! One thing I noticed in the MK and here at the CR shops...they actually had SALES!! Some things at the MK were 30% off. At the CR shops, 2005 merchandise was 50% off! I got a 2005 scrapbook for $14.00 and two 2005 picture frames for $5.00 each!!! We were in search for picture frames for pictures for Ed's mom and grandma, but we had no luck! Nothing was the right size or right for the picture we wanted to use. We got on the monorail to ride to the MK to finally get our picture taken on Main Street in front of the castle.

After we took our picture(i'll post it once we get it in the mail), we went to ride the TTA. We headed over to the TTA only to find out that it was shut down. Seems like it broke down and they actually had to evacuate people off of it. Everything else had lines and it was getting late, so we decided it was time to leave. On the way out, we looked in the shops down Main Street (still no picture frames!). We went to look at our pictures that we took on Main St but they weren't ready yet. We decided we'd just look at them on the computer later at home. (I'll post a picture here once we get it in the mail). We took a picture in front of the tree on Main Street.

We turned around and said goodbye to the Magic Kingdom, and took the monorail back to the CR where we had parked for breakfast. I called my grandma to let her know we were on the way (a bit late) and that we should be there in about an hour. It had started to rain some, so we took our time driving to pick her up. She lives about an hour north of Disney. We got to her house, filled up on some drinks, packed her stuff in the truck (thank goodness she packed lite! LOL) and we were off to Orlando to drop Ed off. We made it in pretty good time and unloaded all Ed's stuff. I got to meet Ed's dad this time! He was nice, and he helped unload Eds stuff! Now it was time to head on home! We got snarled up in I-4/Orlando/Disney Park Closing Traffic and it took us quite a bit of time to get home. But we made it!!!

I had such a great time on this trip, and I know Brandon and Ed did too! It was so great to celebrate the holidays together at Disney!! I hope we can make this trip every year! It was fun sharing with Ed some of the extra Disney Magic that he's never seen before, MVMCP and even the Disney Resorts!  Check back soon for a link to our pictures from the trip! (yes, there are more than what is posted here! we took tons of pictures!!)
