I'm just getting a head start on planning our 2009 Disney 7 Day Cruise. Brandon, Ed and I will be going. Check back here from time to time to see how our planning is going and any new exciting Disney Cruise news!!!!

We finally decided on a cruise date that will work for us!!! 5/23/09. I called Disney Cruise reservations on Thursday 12/20 only to be told the system was down. Finally on Monday 12/24 the system was back up and I was able to confirm our cruise!!! We are very excited about this cruise and are already counting down the days!!
We were able to change our dinner seating to Early/Main seating. This worked well for Brandon and I on the first cruise, and we are used to eating around 5pm at home. I also found out that we are still receiving our discount for booking a cruise while still on board on our last cruise!! We also have the $200 on board credit for booking on board!!
Ed is starting to get excited, excited, excited about our cruise!! (his first ever cruise). We have started looking at spa treatments offered on the cruise. Last time I was nervous to go alone to the spa, but now that Ed will go with me I should be ok. Here is a list of a few things we are interrested in: (this info is from Disneycruise.com )
Vista Spa Villas Treatments
The Vista Spa Villas provide you with a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship. Upon arrival, pamper yourself with a soothing foot cleansing on your own private outdoor verandah. A bubbling hot tub awaits, ready to ease away tension as you relax amidst the incredible ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes from this ideal perch. Afterward, move to the Mediterranean inspired suite where you will enjoy a massage, facial or other treatment of your choice. The experience culminates back on the veranda with a traditional tea ceremony and a restful respite on a luxurious chaise lounge. Additional spa treatments may be reserved. You may also purchase a bottle of champagne and strawberries.
Treatments may be booked in advance online, or at the Vista Spa Villas onboard the Disney Magic® and the Disney Wonder®.
Villa For Two
Share a rejuvenating spa experience with someone you love. In addition to enjoying the spa treatment of your choice, indulge in a soothing foot cleansing experience, relax in a bubbling hot tub on a private verandah and savor the flavor of a traditional tea ceremony.

A Surial Steam Bath is yours to enjoy in privacy for 60 minutes. You'll be provided with an assortment of muds from Austria. Once you apply them, you enter the steam chamber where the combination of heat and earth removes impurities.
At the Vista Spa, there's a wonderful Tropical Rainforest where you can relax on the heated tile lounge chairs, enjoy an aromatherapy scented session in a steam room and refresh yourself in an aromatic mist and rainfall shower. (The fee for this is determined by varying factors.)

Today was a Disney Cruise day in our house. Brandon saw my new passporter sitting out and started to read some of it. Then he wanted to look back at our 2005 trip report and pictures. We had such a great time looking back at the pictures...he kept remembering things from the cruise that he liked. He's VERY excited to be going on a 7 night cruise this time!!
We watch the Travel Channels special on Disney Cruise Lines. After that we decided to watch the Disney Cruise Line planning DVD. It was MUCH better than the one we got in 2004!! Very interactive and a lot of information. They even had menus on there. (although I've just read that they are changing the menus...but I can read the Dis Boards and find out what the new menus will be like). Order a free copy of the DCL planning DVD here.
We are down to 4 months until our cruise!! We are getting excited about it now!
We have decided on the two excursions we would like to do. On Tortola, we will be doing teh Dolphin Encounter. On St. Johns we'll be doing the Coral Marine Park by land and sea. We've also ordered the Romantic Escape at Sea (REAS) package.
-Romantic gift amenity delivered to your stateroom (one per package)
-Tropical Rain Forest pass for two at the Vista Spa & Salon (length of
cruise)
-Priority seating at Palo (one night)
-Romance turndown service (one night)
-Champagne breakfast in bed (one morning)
-Pre-reservations for onboard services (Shore Excursions, Palo, Spa &
Fitness) can be accessed at 105 days prior to the sail date.
Once onboard you will receive a form to fill out to request the date of
the breakfast and the menu selections. A letter will be delivered to
your stateroom that advises which night the turndown service is
provided.
We plan on doing the villa couples massage on the ship. We have been talking about other activities to do on the ship. We want to see all the evening shows, check out the adult clubs, and maybe play bingo on the last night. Brandon plans on spending lots of time in the teen club area! He says, "I'll see you at dinner!"
Other good news is that Ed got his vacation time approved for the week of the cruise, and a week after for our stay at Disney!! That has been a BIG relief to us.
I've finally got my "Cruise Binder" put together with tings I have been finding online. Most important right now...packing list! We're going to start buying some things and putting them away!
This has been an active month for planning our Disney Cruise!!! We are less than 100 days away from our cruise now!! We are SO excited!!
We were able to book our excursions. We booked Palo Brunch during one of our sea days, couples Villa massage on a sea day, Dolphin Encouner on Tortola, and Coral World by land and sea in St. Johns!!!!
I plan on spending alot of time by the pool!! Ed wants to explore (and I'll explore with him some as well), and Brandon is ready to hang out with the teens in the teen club!!
Today I've ordered our tropical (gasp....matching shirts) to wear the first day on the ship (I think). We can also wear them at O'hanas after the cruise!!
I got in an order of clothes for myself. I got a pair of black capri's with rhinestone pirate skull & cross bones!! (of course the other shirts I ordered were too big, and I have to send them back and get a different size) I went online and ordered me, Ed and Brandon pirate shirts to wear on the cruise for Pirate Night!!! Saturday we are going to get our passport pictures, and then next wednesday we are going to order our passports.
I've been working on our Fish Extender Gift Exchange the past two weeks! So that is almost finished.
We have decided not to go to dinner on Formal night. This will save us $$$$!! No renting tuxes for the guys, and not having to find a formal dress for me. We will dress up for semi-formal night and have our pictures taken. Since we are staying at Disney a week after the cruise, we figured this would be a good way to save some money!!
