Planning our 2009 Disney Cruise

I'm just getting a head start on planning our 2009 Disney 7 Day Cruise. Brandon, Ed and I will be going. Check back here from time to time to see how our planning is going and any new exciting Disney Cruise news!!!!

12/24/07

We finally decided on a cruise date that will work for us!!! 5/23/09. I called Disney Cruise reservations on Thursday 12/20 only to be told the system was down. Finally on Monday 12/24 the system was back up and I was able to confirm our cruise!!! We are very excited about this cruise and are already counting down the days!!

12/28/07

We were able to change our dinner seating to Early/Main seating. This worked well for Brandon and I on the first cruise, and we are used to eating around 5pm at home. I also found out that we are still receiving our discount for booking a cruise while still on board on our last cruise!! We also have the $200 on board credit for booking on board!!

12/29/07

Ed is starting to get excited, excited, excited about our cruise!! (his first ever cruise). We have started looking at spa treatments offered on the cruise. Last time I was nervous to go alone to the spa, but now that Ed will go with me I should be ok. Here is a list of a few things we are interrested in: (this info is from Disneycruise.com )

  • Vista Spa Villas Treatments

The Vista Spa Villas provide you with a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship. Upon arrival, pamper yourself with a soothing foot cleansing on your own private outdoor verandah. A bubbling hot tub awaits, ready to ease away tension as you relax amidst the incredible ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes from this ideal perch. Afterward, move to the Mediterranean inspired suite where you will enjoy a massage, facial or other treatment of your choice. The experience culminates back on the veranda with a traditional tea ceremony and a restful respite on a luxurious chaise lounge. Additional spa treatments may be reserved. You may also purchase a bottle of champagne and strawberries.

Treatments may be booked in advance online, or at the Vista Spa Villas onboard the Disney Magic® and the Disney Wonder®.

  • Villa For Two

Share a rejuvenating spa experience with someone you love. In addition to enjoying the spa treatment of your choice, indulge in a soothing foot cleansing experience, relax in a bubbling hot tub on a private verandah and savor the flavor of a traditional tea ceremony.

    Couples Choice

Pamper yourselves with a 75-minute spa treatment of your choice. Select from: Elemis Aroma Stone Therapy, an Elemis Cellutox Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Elemis Musclease Aroma Spa Ocean Wrap, an Exotic Lime & Ginger Salt Glow with half-body massage, an Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap with half-body massage or an Exotic Coconut Rub & Milk Ritual Wrap with half-body massage.

April 5th, 2008

Today was a Disney Cruise day in our house. Brandon saw my new passporter sitting out and started to read some of it. Then he wanted to look back at our 2005 trip report and pictures. We had such a great time looking back at the pictures...he kept remembering things from the cruise that he liked. He's VERY excited to be going on a 7 night cruise this time!!

We watch the Travel Channels special on Disney Cruise Lines. After that we decided to watch the Disney Cruise Line planning DVD. It was MUCH better than the one we got in 2004!! Very interactive and a lot of information. They even had menus on there. (although I've just read that they are changing the menus...but I can read the Dis Boards and find out what the new menus will be like). Order a free copy of the DCL planning DVD here.

May 20th 2008

We are almost down to a year until our cruise!! Now we can really get into our planning!! We are hoping to spend 5-6 nights at Disney AFTER the crusie if Ed can take off that much time from work. I have a surprise planned for this Friday for both Ed and Brandon....but I'm not going to post it yet *just* in case they happen to read this. I"ll be sure to come back and post on Friday or Saturday what the surprise is and also some pictures!!!
