MONDAY 5/25/09
Today was our Palo’s brunch (included in our REAS package). It wasn’t scheduled until 11am, and we got up pretty early again, so we headed up to Topsiders so I could eat an English muffin (needed to for my diabetes). After we ate, Ed reminded me to check in shutters for the photos. We found quite a few from formal night that we got.
We tried waking Brandon up with no success! I got on the computer to try to update my trip report (I’m writing it in word, then will add pictures and post the report once I’m home!)
We left a note for Bran to tell him we were going to Palo’s, and to remind him to take his meds. Then we were off to Palos. We took the elevators in the forward of the ship and it didn’t go up to the 10th deck. So we had to walk ALL THE WAY around the ship in the CRAZY wind to get to Palo’s. To say my hair was a mess is an understatement! I was able to fix it a bit, and then we met PJ. He took us to our table, and gave us some champaign. Our servers name was Cecilia (the same as my mom’s). She was great and showed us around the buffet area. I took some pictures as we walked around, and then it was time to eat.

We got our breads, fruit, Ed got some scallops and we both even tried Cavier.

I only tried a few bites of things, so I’d have room for other things.

Here are some pictures that we took while we walked around:

The dessert table before anything was taken from it!

After we finished this selection, we ordered our main meal. We decided to get share, so I ordered the pepperoni pizza and Ed ordered the Chicken Parmagan. OMG….this has been the BEST meal of the ship so far!!! The pizza crust was so thin and tasted great. The chicken was the best I’ve ever had. We wish we could eat here a few times this week!

For dessert we got a little bit of everything.

The view from up in Palo’s was amazing! Ocean all around!! Our server took a picture of Ed and me, and then we left.

It had finally been nice and sunny, so we decided to go out by the adult pool. When we got back to the room, Brandon was gone. He left a note that he took his meds and was in the Stack. Ed decided to not go out by the pool just yet, but he walked me up there to search for a chair. Everything was taken by the pool, so up to deck 10 we go.

Deck 10 was SO windy!! I finally found a spot, and once I was settled in, Ed went off to explore the ship. I was out there for about 45 minutes and Ed was back. He decided to go in the pool, so down to the stateroom he went! Once he was back, we headed down to deck 9 to the adult pool. It was so nice and cool! We met “lifetime dreamer”’s mom and had a nice conversation with her. She had recognized me from pictures.
We spent some time in the pool and decided to get a snack to share. We went to Pluto’s and got a cheeseburger and chicken fingers. Side note: DCL still has the yummy Chicken FINGERS, not just the little nuggets that Disney World started using. AND they had honey mustard sauce as well!! Well, as we were walking to take the food to deck 10 to our chairs, the chicken tenders went airborne! Oh my!! At least it didn’t go overboard! It was OK, since we weren’t that hungry…just kind of funny.
I had found a lounge chair, placed right at the edge of the deck, so I could just look out and see the ocean! So peaceful. We sat out there for about 20 minutes and decided to go back to the room. We took our showers and waited for Brandon to get back. He was a bit late, but they were playing a game so that was ok. We decided we were too tired to get ready for dinner, so we just got dinner from Pluto’s. This time the chicken fingers didn’t go flying away! We brought the stuff back to our room to eat.
We noticed the schedule for the Characters, so we did end up getting dressed and going down to take a few photos. Brandon didn’t want to take any pictures; we just let him stay in the room. Ed and I went down. We got some great pictures taken!! We found Sorcerer Mickey, Goofy and Max, and a great Beach Background.
I told Goofy he was our favorite, and that we were called the Goofy Family. He started jumping around, and so did Max. I told them that that meant we were relatives and they started clapping and kissing my hand…LOL.
Here are some pictures we had taken (will scan in the profession pictures later):

After the pictures, we went to get Brandon to go to the show. On the way we stopped at the store so Brandon could buy some pins. Tonight’s show was Twice Charmed. It was a great show, not Brandon’s favorite, but Ed and I enjoyed it. After the show Brandon took off to the Stack. Ed and I headed to Rockin’ Bar D to see Heath Hyche, a FUNNY comedian. We got our same bar stools as last night, and ordered a Strawberry Frozen Margarita. It was so great, we ended up getting another one.

After the show, we headed back to the room. When we walked in, we saw our romantic turndown service. A wedding cake, with rose petals all around it. Very nice!

I typed up some of my trip report, and Ed organized some of our things. We enjoyed the balcony for a little bit as well. Brandon game back around midnight and we all went to sleep!!
Next up: Tortola and our Dolphin Experience.
