Disney Cruise Day 4 ~ 5/26/09

Tuesday May 26, 2009

We had placed a door card out last night for breakfast room service. We ordered some bagels, fruit, and donuts for the guys. Some juice and coffee for Ed.

Ed always woke up early, and enjoyed his time out on the balcony. He took alot of pictures of us pulling into port at Tortola.

Our meeting time for the Dolphin Encounter was 10:45am in the Promonade Lounge. We got there early, so Ed and I went to view our pictures on the kiosk next to our meeting area. When we got back, Brandon got us towels, and we got all our ID’s Key to the world cards and tickets ready. We got our wrist bands and we followed our group leader to deck one. We walked to where the buses were waiting for us. We got on and headed to our Dolphin Discovery.

We followed  our group leader (holding the Jasmine sign) to the bus area:

They let us out and we made our way to the video viewing area for our instructions.

They got us confused, and kept saying we were doing the swim. Hey, no complaints from us. We got our life vests, put on our water shoes and headed over to the dolphin area. We were separated in 3 groups, A, B and C. We were in group B.

We got in the water, and at first it was a bit cold. The water was just about waist high on me. There were a lot of little kids in our group, and some of them were very nervous and not too sure about being that close to the dolphins.

We helped our leader give commands to the dolphins, Hercules & Al. We got SOAKED! But it did feel good! Thank goodness it was cloudy today, my sunburn couldn’t handle the heat! Anyways, back to the dolphins. Each person had their chance to have the dolphin give them a kiss, then give a dolphin a kiss, and then “dance” with the dolphin. They had people taking pictures and videos, of course. Ed got to stick his hand in the dolphins mouth! Scary! He even did it twice! LOL

After our encounter was over, we got out, got our things and viewed the video. Of course, we bought one! Then we viewed the pictures, and bought those. How often do you get a chance to have pictures with the dolphins!! Brandon bought a dolphin t-shirt with our dolphins name on it.

We went outside to take a few pictures, and to wait for our buses to come back.

We got back to the ship and needed to eat. It was almost 2pm. We dropped our stuff off in the room, and noticed that it wasn’t clean yet. We went down to Pluto’s to get burgers for lunch and sat out there.

After we ate, Brandon went to The Stack. Ed and I walked around, and then went to Deck 4 to sit on those comfy blue chairs. We wanted to give our room guy some time to clean up.

We ended up falling asleep out there! LOL It was so nice and comfy and shady!! I think we were out there for a couple of hours.

Up next: Pirate Night!!!

Pirate Night!

We went back a clean room, and got ready for Pirate Night Dinner. Brandon came back on time (good boy!) and we just relaxed until it was time to go. We left early so we could get our pictures taken with Pirate Mickey.

Then we found Pirate Goofy!! We all had on our Pirate shirts, I had my pirate capris on and we all had our Tampa Bay Bucs bandana’s on (mom made two of them with material she had, and Brandon used another Bucs one).

On our way to dinner we had to walk through shutters, and we could see that Animators Pallet was still closed. So we stopped in and picked out some more pictures. It was now time to upgrade to a bigger picture package. To us, it is worth it since we never get professional pictures taken at home.

We were eating in Animators Pallet tonight (no show this time). The CM’s (servers) were all dress in their Pirate best!

For appatizers, Brandon got pineapple,

and Ed and I got fried pasta with cheese in it. Yummy!

For our main course, Brandon got…..Steak and steak fries!!

I got Carribbean spiced chicken and cream and chives mashed potatoes. It came with fried Okra, I didn’t know what it was and ate one and thought it was good!! The chicken was great!

Ed got scallops and shrimp with pasta.

For dessert Brandon and I got Mickey Bars,

and Ed got a type of Chocolate cake.

Before they served dessert, they had a party. They invited kids and adults to dance around the room, our server Troy, came to get us. Brandon didn’t want to go, but Ed and I did. It was fun! There was a limbo line, and boy, Troy can limbo! I just ducked under, so did Ed...LOL

You can see Me and Ed, and our Server Troy, along with our table and table mates:

Our server Troy putting up bunny ears behind us! (of course Bran loved this!)

Brandon went on to the Stack after his mickey bar, and Ed had some coffee and then we left. We saw Jack Sparrow out, but the line for pictures was way too long!!! We went back to the room to relax for a bit. We decided to skip the “show” tonight. It was the movie Disney’s Earth. We really wanted to see it, but wanted to just chill more! I went online really quick, and then worked on my trip report. Ed was organizing things again!!

Our Dolphin towel:

Then it was time for the Pirate Party!! We put on our pirate gear again, and added some glow bracelets and a light up Tink for me, and Captain Hook for Ed. We made our way up to deck 10 as the party was under way. We found a spot and watched them get the party started! Captain Hook tried to take over the ship, but Captain Mickey saved the day!

The fireworks were wonderful! We had a great viewing spot for them.

We left after the fireworks and headed back to the room. I took a shower, and then we ordered room service. Ed and I have ordered room service every night I think. LOL I get a peanut butter sandwich and Ed gets a cheeseburger and fries. I worked on my trip report some more and finally got caught up. We have to be up early tomorrow for our St. Thomas excursion. We need to meet at 8:15am. We have requested room service for breakfast since it will be easier to have it in the room while we are getting ready.

Up next: St Thomas

Welcome
